My comment:

Under version 1, Putin´s Russia applied to join NATO, but was turned down in 2000. In 2002 Russia´s application to join the EU was turned down on the grounds that it was too big. In 2004 the EU expanded further with the addition of the Baltic States. NATO expanded to Russia´s borders. All this after Russia had cooperated after 9/11.

What the West should have done after the collapse of the Soviet Union, was to insist upon the restoration of the Russian Empire on the basis of a modernised version of their 1906 Constitution. With their dependence at the time on external financing and also given the pro-Romanov sentiment present in a significant part of Russian society, this could easily have been done. But none of the powerful people or the mainstream media called for it.

They also should have been supported, even regardless of restoring Russia as a constitutional monarchy, in joining the EU and NATO as soon as possible, with the aim of turning the EU into a single state, which would turn it into the most powerful state in the world by far.Russia remains the biggest by area. The aim would then be, after this, to unite all of NATO as well as the rest of CANZUK into a single state. Aiming to add after this the strategic allies of the rest of the Americas. This would ensure that it had the same level of population, approximately as the largest states by population in the world, namely India and China. Next, the aim would be to include all, in a broad sense of the polyseme "Christian", all of the predominantly Christian countries of Africa, the Carribean, and the Pacific, ensuring a truly global state the biggest in every sense, though population wise not much bigger than India or China. India, with its English-language background and as the world´s largest individual liberal democracy by population, would then be added with expansion beyond NATO into Lebanon and Palestine to follow, allowing Israel to confederate under special arrangements which would also set up some uninhabited but habitable Pacific Islands as additional homelands for both Palestinians and Israelis. This would also result in a population more than double the size of that of the world´s largest remaining dictatorship, Communist China, which would remain the hardest and toughest nut to crack, after the majority of the Muslim world, which is second last. The aim would be, constitutionally, to create something like the Swiss state writ super-large with referenda, etc built in and transitional phases for various breaking down of barriers.

But, all this would have required the elites, especially of the most powerful countries to genuine embrace, not World Federalism, but World Confederalism, as individual components would retain the rights both to secede and to re-join, as well as a great deal of freedom in choosing their levels of autonomy. It would have required, in short, what George Bush might have called the "V" word, or the "Vision Thing". That was totally lacking.

Which is why we ended up with both Putin version 2 and version 3, all of which was totally avoidable.

The price to be paid, if there continue to be insuffient repentance, including totally ignoring ever true Orthodox Christian prophecy will be the continued unfolding of those prophetic warnings in an extremely brutal way. By 2040 or so at the very latest, and much more likely by 2033-4, the result will be an overwhelmingly true Orthodox Christian world composed of an intact Australia, on which no bombs will fall, and a total surviving population of roughly 400-500 million people, the same global and regional lingua francas, with possibly Esperanto added and/or simplified international Englishes and other tongues, and an era of peace and prosperity lasting for 50 years, renewable as long as the world remains penitent. The same thing, however, without global conflict, but with a population of 8 to 10 billion, would have been achievable if leaders and most of the people had embraced the "V" thing and been interested in coming to a full knowledge of the deepest of truths, the Truth, and their own salvation with it.

But, sadly, currently as few as a little over a few thousand people are in the only True Church, the ark of salvation. Out of 8 billion or so, perhaps not even 8,000, or 0.0001% of the world´s population. Nevertheless, in Europe we can be found here: www.trueorthodox.eu.
