My comment:
Actually, the start of the split between Ecumenist, modernist World "Orthodox" and linked persecution of us Orthodox Christian traditionalists who have come to be known, like some previous defenders of Orthodox tradition came to be known, at least as far back as St. Maximos the Confessor in the seventh century AD in his opposition to the Monothelite heresy, as "True Orthodox Christians", started not with the 1920 Ecumenical Patriarchal Encyclical. In 1916, in the two-thirds of Romania occupied by the Central Powers, their German Governor imposed the celebration of Christmas as being only on the Gregorian calendar that year. All Orthodox traditionalists are on the Julian aka Patristic aka Old Calendar. See Vladimir Moss´s free to download article on Romania and the New Calendar.
Also, it is not true that only the "Living Church" supported calendar change. In the midst of the Russian civil war Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow was informed that there had been a general consensus, at a meeting of bishops and clergy led by the Ecumenical Patriarch in Constantinople in Constantinople that the "Revised Julian" aka "New" Calendar should be introduced, reflecting the Orthodox Synods across the world. The Church in Russia took the first steps to introduce it, facing though some resistances and refusals, for example amongst monks in Valaam. Patriarch Tikhon then realised that he had been misinformed about the meeting. The changes to the New Calendar were then suspended and were implemented, then reversed. They have never re-started this process. See Vladimir Moss´s free to download article on the Russian Orthodox Church and the New Calendar.
